    Midlands Youth Fastpitch Series to be run this spring

    A Midlands Youth Fastpitch Series – three events offering coaching and competition for young current or aspiring fastpitch softball players – will be run on three weekend days in April, May and June by BSUK, with two sessions in Milton Keynes and one in Nottingham.

    Announcing the BSUK Awards Nominees

    This weekend, the annual BSUK Awards will be presented from 6:00-8:00 pm at Birmingham City University, immediately following the BSUK Coach Summit.  The Awards have been expanded this year to include a Volunteer of the Year and Umpire of the Year in an effort to recognise the wider workforce who impact our sports.

    No Olympic funding for baseball and softball for now, but door remains open

    UK Sport, the agency that funds Olympic sports and athletes in Britain, announced today that no money has been allocated to baseball or softball national team programmes for the Tokyo Olympic cycle – but the door has been left open to review that decision in a year’s time.

    BaseballSoftball UK is now accepting applications from aspiring young coaches and umpires, and from athletes who attend BSUK’s High Performance Academy, who want to be part of the second-ever baseball and softball cohort to attend the annual Youth Sport Trust National Talent Camp.

    British Baseball and Softball is elated with the announcement by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (OCOG) to reinstate baseball/softball back on to the Olympic programme, following the 129th IOC Session in Rio de Janeiro.

    Olympic return for baseball and softball supported by the IOC Executive Board

    The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has given its approval for the inclusion of baseball and softball among a new sports package for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
