    Joint-CEO John Boyd nominated for Little League International Board of Directors

    BSUK’s Joint-CEO. John Boyd, was officially nominated for election as the Europe and Africa Representative to the Little League International Board of Directors as determined via an e-mail vote. Upon approval, Mr. Boyd, who has been involved with Little League for 30 years, will assume his seat at the November 2016 Board of Directors Meeting, succeeding Kristian Palvia of Skovde, Sweden, as the Europe and Africa Region Representative to the Board.

    SINGLE ORGANISATION FOR BRITISH BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL? WEBINAR on Thursday 14 April from 8-9pm

    Following discussions about the way in which the parties were operating and being administered, the British Baseball Federation (BBF), British Softball Federation (BSF) and BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK) took the decision to carry out a fundamental review of the relationships between the three organisations and to consider the best structure for the sports of baseball and softball.

    BSUK signs up to Mental Health Charter for Sport and Recreation

    BSUK has signed up to the Mereation.org.ntal Health Charter for Sport and Recreation, developed by the Sport and Recreational Alliance, the Professional Players’ Federation and the leading mental health charity Mind, and launched on 25 March in London by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and a number of top sports stars.

    BSUK Highlights of the Year

    In many ways, 2013 was a momentous year for BSUK, with the beginning of a new Whole Sport Plan funding cycle, the opening of the dedicated fields at Farnham Park and new participation targets reached.  Below, key BSUK staff members pick out their own highlights from 2013.

    Farnham Park Management Committee gets underway

    BSUK has formed a Management Committee, made up of BSUK staff and community members, to oversee operation of the new purpose-built baseball and softball facilities at Farnham Park, with some members of the Committee still to be appointed.  But the group held a productive first meeting on January 24.

    BSUK and BSF to share new staff role

    BSUK and the BSF have come to an agreement to share the cost of a new BSUK staff position that will be appointed before the end of November.  The main responsibilities of the post for the BSF will be to direct national team programmes and the Great Britain Fastpitch League, while responsibilities for BSUK will include talent development, oversight and management of the new facilities being built at Farnham Park and the development of community programming in the area served by Farnham Park.

    For the 4th straight year, BaseballSoftballUK has received the top mark—a Green Light rating—for its annual Self Assurance submission to Sport England.

    British Baseball Federation Seeks Directors for BSUK Board

    The BBF are recruiting from the baseball community to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors for their national development agency, BaseballSoftballUK Ltd. Interested candidates can apply online.
