    Baseball clubs received over £100,000 in grant support in the last four years

    Following an analysis of BaseballSoftballUK’s work with clubs over the last funding cycle (April 2013 – Oct 2016) we are happy to report that thanks to the efforts of BaseballSoftballUK and its staff baseball clubs have received £103,688* in grant and income support. This is cash that has gone directly into the pockets of baseball clubs in an effort to help them achieve their own development goals.

    Baseball and softball rejoin SportsAid

    Baseball and softball have been reinstated as sports whose junior athletes can receive awards from SportsAid, a sponsor-funded charity that helps young sports people overcome the financial challenges they face as they bid to realise their full potential.

    Home run for the Manchester Indoor Softball League

    The Manchester Indoor Softball League has secured sponsorship for its 2015 autumn season from HOME Estate Agents.  The company will be the first-ever sponsors of the Indoor League and will benefit from the growth the league has seen in recent months and years.

    Webinar on grants and funding will be the first of many

    On Tuesday evening 16 June, the BBF and BSUK co-hosted a Webinar on Fundraising and Grants for clubs, and further Webinars will follow over the coming months.  The aim is to share more development knowledge among affiliated baseball and softball clubs and teams across the UK.

    Softball 4 Beginners sessions set for Havering and Essex

    Five new co-ed slowpitch softball teams in Havering and Essex will begin eight weeks of “Softball 4 Beginners” sessions in the week commencing 6 July, leading up to a tournament to be held at the end of the summer and the creation of a new softball league to begin regular play in 2016.

    Sefton Sharks Softball awarded £3003 to grow the sport year round

    The Sefton Sharks Softball Club, formed in 2012 as one of the founding teams in the Sefton Softball League, has been awarded £3003 through a Sport England Small Grant to enable the club to hire an indoor venue so they can remain active throughout the winter.

    Birmingham Bandits to run Baseball for Beginners course

    The Birmingham Bandits from the BBF’s Triple-A Central Division will be running a Baseball for Beginners course in partnership with Sportivate.  The course will begin on Wednesday 27 May and run for an initial period of six weeks.

    The MARS Milk Play Fund is once again offering cash awards to sports clubs, projects and individual athletes between now and the end of September 2015.

    BaseballSoftballUK announces intention to build a new northern facility

    BaseballSoftballUK, the development agency for the two sports, today announced an intention to build a new purpose-built baseball and softball facility in Manchester which will help to promote the sports in the North of England.

    BSUK announces partnership with Sport England TASS

    BSUK is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Sport England Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (Sport England TASS), a government-funded programme that provides a partnership between talented young athletes, National Governing Bodies, and the Higher Education (university) and Further Education (college/school) sector.
