BSUK to launch Junior Club Development Programme

Fri 11 Aug 2017

BaseballSoftballUK is launching a Junior Club Development Programme -- a fantastic opportunity for clubs and leagues to establish and develop junior baseball and/or softball programmes to enhance their own future and the future of the sports in general.

The Junior Club Development Programme is supported by elements of BSUK’s Hit the Pitch programme and by the Little League development programme.

Hit the Pitch is BaseballSoftballUK’s national participation programme.  Its aim is to introduce new players to baseball and/or softball in a meaningful, engaging and fun way.

Little League is a global programme that encourages local volunteers to organise and operate junior baseball and/or softball leagues that are chartered annually through Little League International.  Each league can structure itself to best serve the needs of children in the area in which it operates.

BSUK is looking to establish new leagues through the Junior Club Development Programme by the beginning of Summer 2018.  One of the key principles behind this opportunity is that of localised play for children and young people in a given area, based on an intra-club programme where all play takes place at a central venue.

The table below sets out the key facets of the programme:

Participation Develop a new central location for a junior baseball and/or softball programme.
Organisation Dedicated BSUK staff members will guide and support your plans for this programme.
Recruitment This programme is part of both national and international development programmes, which can supply your club with resources, profile and opportunities not available elsewhere.
Membership Through your membership of the programme, you will have the chance to purchase high-quality start-up equipment in a convenient and cost-effective way.
Promotion BSUK will support the promotion and marketing of your programme, both locally and nationally.
Insurance The programme comes with comprehensive insurance for organisers and players.
